One of life’s most simple pleasures is ice cream. Young, old, rich, or poor ice cream makes everyone a little happier. I don’t think I have ever heard anyone say no when someone says, “Hey, let’s go get some ice cream.” Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump didn’t want any that one time, but he was in a big funk.
Gypsy Scoops on Race Street near Belknap is located in a cute little house with a piano on the porch.
Parking is not abundant. It is pretty nonexistent except for the 1 handicapped place on the side of the building. Prepare to park on the street.
Inside is a sweet little establishment. They sell candy in jars. Old school candy. They have plenty of places to sit. There are games on some of the tables. There was a baby shower going on when we visited.
I chose a scoop of Cookie Monster and a scoop of Banana Pudding. I’m not much of a blue food person, but Cookie Monster was so good. I tasted at least 3 different kinds of cookies and frosting. The thick, creamy, rich Banana Pudding tasted like a really really really really really cold best banana pudding you have ever had.
I left Gypsy Scoops with a big blue smile on my face.
