In North Fort Worth, there is a little dessert spot called Lumi Snow.
It’s not ice cream. It’s not a snow cone. It is a cold dessert served on slate with an elaborate and fun presentation.
This place is popular and seating is sparse. While you are waiting, it is perfectly acceptable to stare at what people are eating. Everyone is doing it.
It takes about 15 minutes to receive the goods after you place your order, which we were able to do right away. I was getting a little nervous about what we were going to do when the food came out and we still didn’t have a table. At the last minute some people vacated and 2 of the 3 of us were able to sit.
We ordered a Campfire Classic – chocolate snow with graham crackers, chocolate chips, marshmallows, with marshmallow and fudge sauce drizzled over the top. It is topped with a huge toasted marshmallow.
We also got Birthday Cake – birthday cake snow with sprinkles, whipped cream, lollipops and drizzled in fudge sauce.
Lumi Snow is much more appetizing than I am about to make it sound. So, it’s me, not them.
When you put your spoon in, you expect it to be like ice cream but it kind of crumbles like softly packed saw dust. It is cold and a bit dry. Once it hits your mouth, you get this surprisingly incredible rich flavor combo and it blends and literally melts in your mouth. You can’t wait for the second bite. And before you know it, you have single-handedly eaten most of it. You don’t care. Your brain is telling you it must be low in calories because it’s just snow. Your tummy is telling you to slowly back away from the table – you have overdone it. Back away for the love of God!
Go try Lumi Snow. It’s cool. It’s unlike anything you have tried before. And you will go back.
