One of the top bodyguards in the business (Ryan Reynolds) has suffered a career mishap and has hit rock bottom. His new client (Samuel L. Jackson) is a hit man that has to testify against the evil leader of Belarus (Gary Oldman) at the International Court of Justice at The Hague. The freedom of the wife of the hitman (Salma Hayek) and the return of the bodyguard’s credibility both rely on this testimony, so they have to work together to get to the trial on time.
“The Hitman’s Bodyguard” is so damn funny.
The dynamic between Reynolds and Jackson is smooth and natural. Jackson may play a killer, but he is a fun loving one and you cannot help wanting to hang out with him.
The performance of Salma Hayek as the beautiful and fiery Latina wife of Jackson is golden. She steals the show in the conversations between the two of them.
Filmed in Europe, the scenery is lovely.
The action scenes in this comedy are superior to most action movie scenes I have seen as of late.
Go see “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” for the laughs and the unique love story of Jackson’s and Hayek’s characters.
