More Ways to Give to SE Texas Victims

These are wise words from my dear friend, Kirsten Brooks Young.  I met her when I lived in New York.  She is a fellow Texan and she has worked non-profit for years.

If you’ve already donated and you want to do more, consider planning ahead: Set a reminder to send holiday cards to the first responders in SE Texas – pick a small town, a sheriff’s office, a fire dept. Set a reminder for Giving Tuesday on Nov 28 and donate again. Plan a trip to Texas in April to give the gift of time for national volunteer month. Set a reminder to donate to a kids camp in SE Texas that offers scholarships to families in need. Disaster recovery is a long road.

  1. Thank you for this information. I had already made a donation but I was thinking that I would wait a bit to see what additional needs are.
