Part of The Blog Cabin’s 31 Days of Spooky Fun 2017 Series
It Part 2 Release Date: September 6, 2019.
Director Andy Muschietti will be returning.
Stephen King’s fictional town of Derry, Maine is not an easy town for children to reside in. Not like most towns, Derry historically has a high percentage of missing persons. It is worse for kids.
Most of the adolescents are having to deal with issues at home and school. Some who are bullied by their parents become the town bullies themselves. That’s when Pennywise the clown starts hunting them.
It is visually enticing. Pops of vivid color throughout the dreary-but-with-potential Derry take you from the ordinary days and direct you to what’s coming and what happened in the past. You will never ever see red balloons the same again.
I allow my self to get lost and emotionally vested in films. I screamed several times. No matter how scared you get, you simply cannot quit watching It.
The cast of kids works. Funny at times, heartbreaking at others, their individual personalities shine through while forming a group of lasting friendships. The sensitivity each have for one another is quite touching.
I’m going to put out a warning here. If you have a hard time with watching movies with animals and their demise this one is rough and anxiety will be had. Luckily, I was with a friend who told me it was safe to watch again while I hid my eyes and covered my ears.
