I don’t normally write about chain restaurants, but this one deserves a shout out. Plus, I have some friends and family in Colorado, Iowa, Ohio, Nebraska and Minnesota, plus all over Texas. So this post can cover a lot of territory and people. And tacos make people happy.
Formally known as Rusty Taco, R Taco is a damn good taco joint.
Fresh made to order tacos, cheap margaritas, some rockin chips and queso, and some firey hot sauce makes this my new go-to taco place. AND, it is so affordable – like maybe-a-quarter-more-than-a-Taco-Casa-Super-Taco affordable.
I went to the Fort Worth Ridglea location next to Haltom’s on Camp Bowie. Plenty of parking and fast service also make to go orders easy.
My recommendation is to get 2 tacos. Dubbed as Street Tacos, these are bigger than any street taco I have ever had.
The Texican taco is a classic beef taco – meat, lettuce, tomato, and cheese.
The Picadillo Taco is spicy meat with potatoes, onions, and cilantro. It is delicious and indeed spicy.
My favorite was the Rusty Taco – spiced pork with pineapple, onions, and cilantro. It is a spicy/sweet taste explosion.
The queso is so good, you cannot quit eating it. The guacamole is refreshing alongside it and helps calm the flames in your mouth from the spicy foods.
The absolute best part? The service. I have never met a nicer staff than here. I love these people!
I cannot wait to go back.
