The coolest part of a Banksy is, well, Banksy.

Probably the world’s most popular and famous graffiti/street artist, Banksy got his start in Bristol, UK. His art ranges from sweet to whimsical to enchanting – from strong statements to satire. He gets his points across and gets you thinking.

Who is this Banksy guy?

Nobody knows. He is a legend. A myth. An enigma wrapped in an enigma inside an enigma.

Some people think Banksy is not one artist but several artists with similar outlooks that claim to be Banksy but remain anonymous. I even read one theory that he is Robert Del Naja of Massive Attack.

Named one of the most influential people of 2010 in Time Magazine, his photo was of him a bag over his head.

From now on in my travels I will be on the lookout for his works.

Here are a couple of my favorites that I have yet to see in person.

From Yankee Stadium in The Bronx

In Jerusalem

I do love a good mystery. And I do love his outlook. And I will be posting when I find what he has brought to the table.

    1. I totally agree. I am going to try to catch his new work of Turkish artist and journalist Zehra Dogan when I am in New York in a few weeks.
